Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Shipper/Receiver to join our warehouse team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in the efficient management of shipping and receiving operations, ensuring that all materials are handled correctly and safely. This position requires a strong understanding of warehouse processes and the ability to operate various equipment, including forklifts.

Duties

Load and unload goods from lorries and containers, ensuring proper handling to prevent damage. Accurately record incoming and outgoing shipments using a Warehouse Management System (WMS). Inspect shipments for accuracy and quality, reporting any discrepancies or damages. Manage inventory levels by conducting regular stock checks and maintaining accurate records. Operate forklifts and other materials handling equipment safely and efficiently. Collaborate with team members to ensure timely processing of shipments and adherence to safety protocols. Maintain a clean and organised work environment, following health and safety regulations. Assist with heavy lifting as required, ensuring proper techniques are used to prevent injury.

Qualifications

Previous warehouse experience is essential, with a solid understanding of shipping and receiving processes. Forklift certification is highly desirable; candidates should be comfortable operating heavy machinery. Familiarity with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) is an advantage. Strong mechanical knowledge to assist with equipment maintenance as needed. Experience in construction or similar fields is beneficial but not mandatory. Ability to perform heavy lifting consistently throughout the shift. Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills are crucial for success in this role.
