The Opportunity: Shipping Coordinator

Are you a logistics professional looking to take the next step in your career? We are seeking a

Shipping Coordinator

to join our Alton-based team.

In this role, you will be orchestrating all aspects of exporting from point of sale to coordinating timely delivery of our product. With the support of your team you will excel in managing high-volume container loads from the USA to key markets across Asia, Europe, and the Middle East.

The Role

Building on your existing foundational knowledge, you will manage the full lifecycle of order execution. You will navigate various Incoterms (FAS, FOB, CFR, CIF, and DDP) and act as a vital link between our global suppliers, shipping lines, and clearing agents.

This is an ideal role for someone who has mastered the basics and is ready for more responsibility whilst developing your technical knowledge within the team.

Key Responsibilities

Proactive Liaison:

Coordinating between suppliers, global clients, hauliers, and warehouses to ensure seamless transit.

Documentation Ownership:

Preparing and checking invoices, shipping instructions, and commodity-specific certificates with high accuracy.

Customs Coordination:

Handling and verifying original documentation to ensure efficient customs clearance.

Logistics Tracking:

Providing real-time updates and identifying solutions to any transit challenges that arise.

Your Profile

We are looking for a disciplined professional with a "problem-solver" mindset. To be successful, you will need:

Proven Experience:

1-3+ years of experience in a shipping, freight forwarding, logistics or export coordination role.

Technical Knowledge:

A solid working knowledge of Incoterms and international shipping documentation.

Detail-Oriented Approach:

A track record of accuracy in a fast-paced environment where precision is key.

Global Mindset:

The flexibility to occasionally manage urgent global requests across different time zones.

U.K. Residency:

Candidates must possess the existing right to work in the U.K. (Visa sponsorship is not available).

Terms & Environment

Structure:

Full-time, Permanent. Monday-Friday, 09:15-18:00.

This is an in-office role in Alton, offering a collaborative environment where you can work closely with senior leadership.
