Job Description

We are looking for a Shop Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing excellent customer service, helping customers find the products they need, stocking shelves, and ensuring the shop is clean and tidy. The ideal candidate will have a friendly and outgoing personality, excellent communication skills, and an ability to work well in a fast-paced environment. This job involves covering shifts at a number of our bakery shops. To begin with this job is seasonal, but with a view to be kept on for the winter season.

Responsibilities:

Baking Cornish pasties and other savouries (full training given) Food handling and preparation. Salad bar preparation and sales. Greet customers and answer their questions in a friendly and professional manner. Keep shelves stocked with merchandise. Lifting trays of 16 pasties at a time. This job requires the use of stairs. Assist customers in locating items in the store. Operate cash registers and process payments. Maintain a clean and organized store environment. Provide customer service and support.
Our front of house team team are in need of some help with a busy season ahead.
You will be expected to cover any other of our shops at Marazion, Helston, Foundry Praze or Porthleven. Therefore a driving license is needed.

Filling shelves
Packing/ labelling products
Date rotation
Stock room organising
Cleaning
Will be trained to food safety level 2 and an introduction to allergens.

Cashing up and keyholder responsibilities.

We are looking for staff who like to get to know our locals and provide a warm and welcoming smile to all.
The job requires team work to get through the shift successfully. Therefore we need a team player with an eye for detail as allergen control is very important for the safety of our customers.
We need someone who isn't afraid to use their own initiative once trained and are aware of what needs to be done when on shift.

Hours will vary, usually either 7/ 9 hours per day 4/5 days per week and includes weekends.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Temp to perm

Pay: 12.21-12.50 per hour

Expected hours: 20 per week
