Job Advert: Shop Assistant - Maternity Leave Cover (12 Months)

Location: Rapid Rolls, 77 Fountainbridge, Edinburgh, EH3 9PU

Salary: 12.50 per hour

Job Type: Part-Time with start date asap.

We are looking for a dedicated Shop Assistant to join our team for a 12-month maternity leave cover.

Job Summary:

As a Shop Assistant, you'll be the face of Rapid Rolls, delivering exceptional customer service, assisting in food preparation, maintaining cleanliness, and supporting the smooth daily operations of the store. Key Responsibilities:

Customer Service:

? Greet customers with a warm and friendly attitude

? Take accurate orders and handle payments using the POS system

? Address customer questions and resolve minor concerns efficiently

Food Preparation:

? Prepare fresh rolls and meals to the highest standard

? Ensure food safety and hygiene protocols are followed

? Restock ingredients and packaging during service hours

Store Maintenance:

? Maintain cleanliness of counters, dining areas, and prep stations

? Wash dishes, sanitize surfaces, and manage waste disposal

? Assist with opening and closing procedures

Teamwork & Initiative:

? Help and support team members when needed

? Take initiative to complete tasks during quieter periods (e.g., cleaning, organizing,

stocking shelves)

? Perform additional tasks as requested by the Store Manager to ensure the smooth

operation of the store

What We're Looking For:

? A positive, customer-focused attitude

? Ability to work well in a fast-paced team environment

? Previous experience in retail or food service is a plus but not essential

? A strong work ethic and willingness to learn and reliability is a must
