Volunteer Shop Assistant

at our flagship Leeds store. This unique location features a dedicated Donation Centre, an Upcycling Hub, and two expansive sales floors filled with stylish second-hand fashion, offering plenty of variety and ways to get involved.

About us:


White Rose was launched in 2009 by two students from Nottingham Trent University, inspired by the powerful work of the Aegis Trust. The Aegis Trust works internationally to stop genocide and combat hate through education, peace-building, and advocacy. White Rose supports this mission by reselling quality pre-loved fashion, donating 100% of profits to Aegis's life-changing work.

We're passionate about sustainable fashion and reducing waste. By collecting, sorting, and reselling preloved clothes, we promote conscious shopping and aim to lessen the environmental toll of fast fashion. Our stores in Nottingham and beyond invite customers to shop more ethically while supporting a humanitarian cause.

How you can help:


As a Volunteer Shop Assistant, you'll be instrumental in helping to create a warm, friendly, and enjoyable shopping experience. Whether you're assisting customers, organising displays, or keeping things tidy, your contribution will help make the store a lively and inviting space for all who visit.

Typical tasks can include:



Delivering excellent service to shoppers and donors Keeping the store neat, clean, and well-presented Helping with visual merchandising and restocking Operating the till and serving customers Assisting with fundraising events in-store Collaborating with team members to support White Rose's goals

When can I volunteer?


It's entirely your choice!
We're open:

Monday to Wednesday: 10am-6pm Thursday to Saturday: 11am-7pm Sunday: 11am-5pm

How long is a typical volunteer session?


We ask for a minimum of one 4-hour shift each week to ensure both you and the team get the most from the experience. Some volunteers choose to do full days or multiple shifts - it's all flexible based on your availability.
