Job Overview
We are seeking a 2 Customer Sales Persons / Shop Assistants, 1 permanent & 1 full time to join our team in a new Butcher based in LS9 which is mainly geared towards the African Expat market focusing on the provision of meat, poultry, spices, vegetables, fruits & other dry goods sourced from the wholesale market. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in a customer facing role, working with all types of electronic or computerised tills, arranging products on shelves & meat displays, counting cash, stock taking & replenishment, cleaning, record keeping & food hygiene amongst others.
Responsibilities For The Roles
- Working on the till serving customers.
- Taking merchandise or goods out & putting them on the shelves or meat display fridges as & when necessary.
-Ordering stock from suppliers, stock taking, price setting and changing, marketing strategies, liaising with external bodies in the supply and regulatory sectors.
-Maintaining food hygiene standards.
- Helping to keep the Shop clean & tidy by joining other team members to clean it.
- Previous experience in this role is desirable.
- Provide excellent service to customers, appear friendly and approachable.
- Cater to the needs of each individual customers by providing/serving the meat as requested.
- Keep all work area clean and safe at all times.
- Wash and dry all equipment safely and according to the training given.
- Use PPE wherever required.
- It is also imperative that you have a good understanding of health & safety as well as having good knowledge and understanding of current food hygiene and safe practices in the industry.
Adhere to all Company Policies with regard to Health & Safety/Food Hygiene and Food Authenticity.
PPE (Personal protective equipment) provided.
- Ensure proper storage and handling of meat products.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in the butchery area.
- Assist customers with their meat selection and provide recommendations.
- Follow all safety and food handling regulations.
- Follow training in food safety to ensure high quality, food safe products are produced for our customers, ensuring health and safety processes are maintained to create a safe working environment for yourself and colleagues.
- Ensure the cleanliness and organisation of the butchery area.
- Support in maintaining stock levels and inventory control.
- Follow food safety standards and guidelines.
- Collaborate with shop staff to meet production needs
Experience
- Previous experience in a similar role within a restaurant or food production setting is essential.
- Knowledge & experience in using tills is essential.
- Understanding of food safety regulations.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced shop environment.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: 27,040.00-28,500.00 per year
