Job Purpose
To provide excellent customer service, maintain a clean and well-stocked shop floor, and operate the till accurately and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Service
Greet and assist customers in a friendly and helpful manner.
Handle customer queries and complaints professionally.
Cashiering
Operate the till and handle transactions (cash, card, contactless, vouchers).
Ensure accuracy in processing payments and giving change.
Follow store procedures for refunds, exchanges, and voids.
Shop Floor Duties
Replenish shelves and displays, ensuring stock is rotated (FIFO).
Keep the shop floor, shelves, and counters clean, tidy, and safe.
Check product dates and reduce or remove expired items.
Assist with deliveries, unpacking stock, and restocking.
Compliance & Standards
Follow health & safety, food hygiene, and store security procedures.
Report any incidents, damages, or suspicious activity to management.
Comply with age-restricted sales legislation (alcohol, tobacco, lottery).
Skills & Qualities Required
Minimum 1 year of work experience in retail, customer service, or a similar role.
Good communication and customer service skills.
Basic numeracy and accuracy for handling cash.
Reliable, punctual, and trustworthy.
Able to work as part of a team and independently.
Flexible to work evenings, weekends, and bank holidays as required.
Working Hours
6:00 pm - 12:00 midnight
Friday / Saturday: 6:00 pm - 1:00 am
