RSPCA York, Harrogate & District is a separately registered charity, although we are supported by and work in partnership with the RSPCA National Society. We are primarily self-funded and the money we spend in York is raised in our four retail outlets, of which our Acomb shop is a very important revenue stream.

Shop Manager

Acomb, York
store, you will be responsible for managing all shop activities and buidling on the strong sales this shop already has.
We're looking for an individual who isn't afraid to get stuck in, who can help us continue to modernise our retail offering and deliver a consistently high-quality experience for our customers in our stores, whilst increasing our sales and income.
This will include:
Hitting sales targets and maximising charity income
Supporting and training teams of volunteers and staff
Delivering a high quality customer experience
Sorting and pricing donated stock
Coordinating and maintaining a programme of generating quality donations for sale
Ensuring accurate records and financial management
The Role of our Shop Managers

The role of the shop manager is empowered, varied, busy and gives the opportunity to work with some amazing people. Shop managers are pivotal for the success of our business and can make a real difference. RSPCA York, Harrogate & District have one paid member of staff in our shops per day, who is supported by empowered volunteers, trained to a level that enables them to take over most of the tasks within the shop.
As the only paid member of staff, our managers are comfortable in this environment, really enjoy working with others and are great at delegating to their teams. Excellent communicators, they are creative, and always look for opportunities to attract new supporters every day.
In order to fulfil the Shop Manager role, you will also need:
Stamina
A creative eye
Excellent display skills and innovative ideas to boost shop takings
Good to excellent administration and IT skills

13.71 per hour
Hours:
We are presently offering this role at 4 full days. There is a degree of flexibility in rotas, but some weekend working is expected.
Expected working hours are 8:45-16:45.
