Diggerland is The Ultimate Adventure Theme Park Experience, where children and adults can ride, drive, and operate real diggers, dumpers, and full-size construction machinery. The Role
Diggerland Yorkshire is seeking an enthusiastic, motivated, and highly capable
Shop Supervisor
to lead the day-to-day operation of the Customer Service team across the
Gift Shop
and
Admissions Desk
.
You will oversee a team of fun, driven, and customer-focused staff, ensuring excellent guest experiences from arrival to departure. This role requires strong leadership, situational flexibility, and a passion for delivering outstanding service.
Manage the customer journey from start to finish, ensuring every visitor receives exceptional service.
Oversee the admissions process, gift shop operations, and daily financial procedures.
Ensure all sales opportunities are maximised, including up-selling, merchandising, and meeting KPI targets.
Maintain high standards of health and safety within your areas of responsibility.
Team Leadership
Lead, motivate, and develop Retail & Admissions team members.
Support and guide Park Marshals in the absence of the Park Manager or General Manager.
Drive team performance through clear communication, coaching, and positive leadership.
Administration & Planning
Handle stock management, budgeting and financial monitoring for admissions and retail.
Manage administrative duties including reporting, scheduling, and documentation.
Contribute to strategic planning and development initiatives for the park.
Liaise with Diggerland Head Office teams (Administration, Marketing & Finance) and managers across other Diggerland UK parks.
Engage professionally with Diggerland partner companies such as Evision, H.E. Services, Masterhitch Europe Ltd and BuyADigger.
Experience & Skills Required
Essential:
Previous management experience in a customer-facing environment such as a theme park, visitor attraction, museum, hotel, theatre, or large retail enterprise.
Strong leadership skills with a proven track record of motivating teams.
Experience with
EPOS and booking systems,
stock control, and budget management.
Excellent communication, negotiation, interpersonal and organisational skills.
Ability to multitask, work under pressure, and maintain a fast work pace.
A passion for delivering outstanding guest experiences and working with families.
Flexible approach to working hours and shifts.
Qualifications
Applicants must meet
one
of the following criteria:
Educated to
Level 3
with at least
two A-levels (Grade C or above)
in any discipline,
OR
Over 1
year supervisory experience
in a relevant sector (theme park, visitor attraction, museum, hotel, theatre, or large retail enterprise).
Additional requirements:
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and Google Sheets.
Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
