Full Time: 35 Hours, 5 days including weekends

We are looking for a

Shop Supervisor

to support the daily operations and team leadership of the University of Edinburgh Visitor Centre & Gift Shop. The proposed start date for this role is January 2026.


The Opportunity:



This is an exciting opportunity to take on a key role at the University's only Visitor Centre and official gift shop. As Shop Supervisor, you'll help lead a small, dynamic team to deliver excellent service to visitors, staff and students. You'll manage daily shop activities, support visual merchandising, and ensure the team is motivated, trained and working effectively.


Working in a highly visible and customer-facing position, you will help shape the experience of thousands of visitors to the University each year -- all while contributing to the success of our retail offering.


Your skills and attributes for success:



Demonstrated experience in retail, with experience in leading or supervising a team desired. Interpersonal and communication skills Strong organisational skills and the ability to delegate tasks effectively Fully computer literate and numerate, with strong attention to detail Knowledge of the University of Edinburgh and the city is highly desirable A positive, can-do attitude with flexibility and initiative A creative flair for visual merchandising and retail presentation
