About Showcase the Street
Showcase the Street is a community charity based in Dundee, providing accessible, inclusive spaces and activities for people of all ages. Our multi-use facility includes indoor sports pitches, a Tech Hub (gaming arcade), Studios, a Glam Hub (Fashion and design space), and community rooms, supporting physical activity, digital skills, creativity, and social wellbeing.
We work closely with children, young people, families, and community groups, creating a welcoming and safe environment where everyone feels supported and valued.
Role Overview
We are looking for a friendly, reliable, and organised individual to join our team. The primary responsibility of this role is to staff our reception during evening opening hours. The successful candidate must also be flexible and willing to assist with covering annual leave on reception and support weekend Tech Hub parties as a Party Host when required.
During some evening shifts, the postholder may be lone working, and must be comfortable working independently while following our lone working and health & safety procedures. Full training will be provided for both reception duties and Tech Hub party hosting.
Key Responsibilities
Reception Duties
Welcoming customers and visitors in a friendly and professional manner
Managing bookings and payments
Answering phone calls and basic enquiries
Carrying out basic cleaning and tidying duties throughout the facility
Preparing and serving hot drinks available for purchase at reception
Monitoring the facility to ensure health & safety and security procedures are followed
Reporting any issues, incidents, or maintenance concerns to senior staff
Tech Hub Party Host (when required)
Supporting children's parties within the Tech Hub
Helping guests use equipment safely and appropriately
Assisting with set-up and tidy-up of party spaces
Ensuring a fun, safe, and positive experience for all attendees
Skills & Experience Required
Friendly, approachable, and confident when dealing with the public
Strong communication and customer service skills
Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently
Comfortable lone working during evening shifts
Basic IT skills (training provided on internal systems)
Flexible and willing to support additional shifts when required
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: 12.21 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 13 per week
