The Shredding Operative/Driver (Shred O/D) is required to perform both onsite and offsite media shredding and destruction of confidential media using mobile shredding equipment. The shredding equipment is mounted within 15T shedding vehicles and the Shred O/D is responsible for operating and driving the shredding vehicles in accordance with current legislation to customer sites both in the UK and Europe as required by company.

Our Irvine site is looking for a Shred Truck Operative/Driver? on a full time, permanent basis.

You will work 37.5 hours per week. Start times will be variable and there may be times when you will be required to work evenings, weekends and occasionally a stop over.

Full training will be given in any technical aspects of this role if required.

What you will do day to day:



Driving HGV Shredding Vehicle to and from customer sites. Showing proficiency in handling and manoeuvring trucks and equipment. Ensuring that correct PPE is used, and safe working practices are always followed. Ensuring that personal appearance and that of the vehicle and equipment are of the required standard every day Carrying out routine daily checks of both Shred Vehicle and equipment prior to use. Carrying out routine maintenance and emergency repair of shred equipment where necessary and appropriate Acting as customer facing representative of SK TES whilst on site and dealing with and resolving any customer issues whilst there. Alternatively ensuring that any customer issued, or escalations are passed to your line manager in a timely manner to resolve. Operation shredding equipment to carry out onsite/offsite shredding of media to required standards/requirements Carrying out and following job specific instructions for each job accurately and effective Ensuring that accurate reporting of asset information is captured and reported as part of audit guidelines. Travelling both in the UK and Europe and where necessary staying overnight away from home for periods as per the requirements of the job. Ensure the security and accuracy of delivery of the loads in your charge Always Complying with Safe Loading and Health and Safety Laws

Requirements:



Full UK Class 2 licence Valid CPC and Digi Tacho card Experience driving Class 2 vehicles Ability to perform daily vehicle checks to ensure safety Excellent time management skills Outstanding customer service skills ??In Depth knowledge of UK Govt and Industry destruction standards? desirable but not essential Experience ??Driving in foreign countries? desirable but not essential Comprehensive understanding of different types of IT equipment and media types? (training can be given)*
Good working knowledge of Drivers Hours & Working Time Directive.? Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills Able to work on own initiative with a proactive and flexible attitude. Excellent verbal and written communication skills Able to work independently as well as being part of a wider team. Deadline driven and ability to work under pressure.
