Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Shunter Driver / Yard Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our yard activities. This position requires a proactive individual with strong communication skills with a can do attitude.

Responsibilities

Moving & shunting of Units and Trailers. To present tractor units and trailers for MOT at a designated Ministry of Transport testing station of site. Collection or delivery of parts and equipment to a Quest depot or client site. Responsible in assisting movement of equipment on site. Responsible in assisting others when working at height access is required, a per H&S protocol. Assist in loading and unloading deliveries, ensuring that all items are handled safely and efficiently. Maintain an organised yard by keeping materials sorted and stored appropriately. Communicate effectively with team members to coordinate tasks and ensure timely completion of duties. Conduct regular inspections of equipment to ensure proper functioning and report any mechanical issues. Support warehouse operations by assisting with inventory management and stock replenishment as required. Drive delivery vans or lorries when necessary, ensuring compliance with all safety regulations during transportation.

Requirements

Must hold a C + E Licence Previous experience in a warehouse or yard environment is preferred. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with team members and supervisors. Experience as a delivery driver or van driver is beneficial but not essential. Must be physically fit, as the role involves manual handling and being on your feet for extended periods. A proactive attitude towards safety and adherence to health regulations is essential.
