We are British Made Shutters, a trade-only manufacturer supplying premium faux wood plantation shutters across the UK. We take pride in quality, consistency, and British craftsmanship. We're growing and looking for reliable, hands-on operatives to join our factory team.

Role Overview

As a Shutter Operative, you'll play a hands-on role in the production and finishing of custom faux wood shutters. You'll be trained across various stages including cutting, assembling, wrapping, and quality control. Attention to detail, a good attitude, and a willingness to learn are essential.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

Cutting & Prep

Measure and cut shutter components accurately using saws and jigs Follow cut sheets and batching instructions Maintain a clean, safe cutting area

Assembly

Drill, pin, and fit louvres to high standards Use air tools and jigs to build frames and panels Perform visual and hands-on QC before moving to wrapping

Wrapping & Labelling

Neatly wrap finished shutters using film and cardboard Label orders accurately and prep for dispatch Handle with care -- these are premium products!

Stock & Organisation

Help monitor material and packaging levels Keep workstation clean, tidy, and safe

General

Follow all SOPs and health & safety instructions Communicate with team and supervisor clearly Be punctual, reliable, and a team player

What We're Looking For

Basic DIY or workshop experience (training provided) Good with tools and happy to be hands-on Strong attention to detail Punctual and dependable Positive attitude Forklift licence or factory experience
