We are seeking a skilled Ironworker to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation and repair of structural steel and iron components in various construction projects. This role requires a strong understanding of safety protocols, as well as the ability to work at heights and in challenging environments. The Ironworker will collaborate with other tradespeople to ensure the successful completion of projects on time and to specification.
Duties
Install and connect steel beams, columns, and girders according to blueprints and specifications.
Perform welding tasks as needed to join metal components securely.
Use hand tools and power tools effectively for cutting, shaping, and assembling metal structures.
Conduct masonry work when required for structural support.
Assist with roofing tasks, ensuring proper installation of iron supports.
Engage in heavy lifting of materials and equipment, adhering to safety guidelines.
Maintain a clean and organised work area, ensuring all tools are stored properly after use.
Collaborate with carpenters and other trades to ensure seamless integration of ironwork into overall construction projects.
Skills
Proficient in commercial driving for transporting materials to job sites.
Strong welding skills with experience in various welding techniques.
Competent in using hand tools such as hammers, chisels, and wrenches.
Basic carpentry skills are advantageous for working alongside other trades.
Familiarity with power tools including drills, saws, and grinders.
Mechanical knowledge is essential for understanding equipment operation and maintenance.
Experience in masonry work is a plus for enhancing structural integrity.
Ability to perform roofing tasks safely and efficiently.
Capable of heavy lifting (up to 50 kg) as required by the job demands.
