Industrial Signs is a family-run business based in Peterborough, with over 30 years' experience in the signage industry.

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Sign Maker to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, creating, and installing a variety of signs for commercial and industrial clients. This role offers an excellent opportunity to utilise your mechanical knowledge and craftsmanship skills in a dynamic environment. The ideal applicant will be physically fit, organised, and capable of working with hand and power tools to produce high-quality signage that meets customer specifications.

Responsibilities

Interpret design specifications and technical drawings to produce customised signs. Operate hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently during sign fabrication and assembly. Cut, shape, and assemble materials such as metal, plastic, wood or vinyl to create signs. Apply finishing techniques including painting, lettering, or applying vinyl graphics to ensure professional presentation. Install signs on various surfaces at client locations, ensuring secure fixing and compliance with safety standards. Maintain a clean and organised workspace, adhering to health and safety regulations at all times. Assist with heavy lifting of materials and finished signs to facilitate installation or transportation. Collaborate with customers or team members to ensure the final product aligns with expectations.

Skills & Experience

Experience in sign making or sign fitting preferred but not essential Full UK driving licence - essential Transferable hands-on skills required (vinyl application, print production, installation, fabrication, fitting or similar trades) Understanding of large-format print and signage production Confident using computers and design programmes, or willing to learn new software Reliable, professional and detail-focused approach Proficiency in using hand tools such as saws, drills, chisels, and screwdrivers. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when handling large or bulky materials or finished signs. Strong organisational skills with attention to detail to ensure accuracy in design and installation processes. Physical fitness to work on-site involving standing for extended periods and manual handling tasks. Hours & Overtime

Monday to Friday, 08:30 - 17:00 Overtime available for early starts, late finishes and long-distance installations
