Job Description

As a Signage & Maintenance Engineer at Astra Group, you'll be the face of our company on-site, playing a vital role in ensuring the safety, compliance, and performance of signage across our estate.

A key focus of this role will be carrying out Health & Safety inspections on static signage and delivering remedial repairs where required to address any identified risks or issues. You'll work to uphold safety standards and help ensure all signage remains structurally sound and compliant.

In addition to static signage, you'll also support digital signage maintenance across the estate, including fault diagnosis, repairs, and general upkeep. The role will also involve assisting with new signage installations, providing hands-on support where needed.

We're looking for a proactive individual with a solid background in signage, field-based maintenance, and practical repair work. Strong problem-solving skills, flexibility, and a commitment to safety and quality are essential.

The role includes varied working hours and participation in a 4-weekly on-call rota. Stay-aways are required, and while you'll be primarily based in your home region, regular UK-wide travel will be expected, with occasional international project support.

Key Responsibilities:



Comprehensive Signage Support:



Maintain and repair a wide range of signage, consisting mainly of traditional signage with an element of digital signage. Complete routine signage surveys for key clientele, identifying any issues Complete reports on H&S inspection findings Replace faulty components to ensure minimal downtime. Conduct preventative maintenance to extend the lifecycle and reliability of signage systems. Where required, assist with the installation of new signage systems, including but not limited to: Lightboxes, vinyl, wayfinding, totems

On-Site Management:



Manage multiple client sites, adhering to strict health and safety standards. Coordinate with the Lead Engineers and Coordinators to schedule and execute maintenance, installation, and reactive repair tasks. Provide exceptional customer service Document and report all scheduled activities accurately and promptly using the systems and software provided. Liaise with key client contacts as directed Manage all H&S aspects of your assigned jobs Work safely and as per RAMs

Qualifications and Experience:



Proven experience in the Signage. Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities. Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team. Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills. Valid UK driver's license- REQUIRED Experience working at height. Experience with manual handling of large signage materials. IPAF PAL Licence - 1b, 3a and 3b. -REQUIRED CSCS- REQUIRED PASMA - preferred. Relevant certifications are highly advantageous.

Additional Requirements:



Willingness to travel extensively across the UK and potentially internationally. Flexibility to work outside standard business hours, including on-call duties. Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment safely. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
