The College of Nursing, Midwifery and Healthcare at the University of West London is a leading provider of healthcare education in Berkshire and West London. The Role




The main purpose of this role is to join and existing team of technicians who work across both sites to provide support to staff and students within the Simulation Centres with regards to the use of equipment and learning resources available.


The role is very varied and would suit a dynamic and self-motivated individual who is keen to learn and develop a wide range of skills. The role involves liaising with and supporting all staff and students who use the centres and includes managing computer-based learning activities and technical equipment and both audio-visual and virtual reality systems within the simulation centres.


The post holder will contribute to the efficient organisation of resources within the centres, taking responsibility for the cleaning, maintenance and disposal of equipment in accordance with manufacturer's guidelines, risk assessments and health and safety. Adherence to all health and safety requirements, in relation to the needs of students and internal/external users and visitors is a key element of the role as is the maintenance of accurate records of equipment maintenance/service history.


In addition to the above areas of responsibility the technician maybe required to undertake any other reasonable duties relating to the broad scope of the position.


The ability to work at both our Brentford and Berkshire campus is essential.

The Person




The successful applicant will have a good standard of general education including a degree or relevant experience. In addition, the individual will be highly organised, flexible, proactive and reliable with excellent attention to detail as well as proven time management and problem-solving skills.


Relevant experience with/interest in audio-visual and information technology and an awareness of contemporary healthcare are desirable.


This is a student facing role and the working environment is busy and dynamic. The successful applicant must be committed to delivering a customer focused service, respecting confidentiality and demonstrate an ability to communicate with a diverse group of students and staff.


An enhanced DBS Certificate is required for this post.
