Our Coronary Care Unit (CCU)and Cardiology ward (Syon 1) is a 30 bedded ward, which comprises of 6 CCU beds and 22 cardiology and heart failure step-down beds.
An exciting opportunity has become available for a Sister or Charge nurse to support the Ward Manager in leading the nursing team.
The post holder will be expected to provide a high standard of care including assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of
individualized, holistic patient care in conjunction with
the multi-disciplinary team. As a proficient practitioner in cardiac care, the post holder will be expected to act as a role model to members of the nursing team.
He / she will provide effective mentorship and
preceptorship, participating in the education and training
of nursing and non-nursing staff.
The post holder will also takes charge of the Coronary Care Unit as required, liaising closely with the Ward Manager and Modern Matron and will assume responsibility of providing safe and effective nursing care.
To provide exceptional patient care which is underpinned by evidence based practice and Trust values.
To work in partnership with the patients' family and friends and actively involve them in the caring process on behalf of the patient where agreed.
To ensure safe allocation of nursing staff caseload depending on nursing staff skill mix.
To communicate effectively with patients/relatives/carers/ and all members of the multidisciplinary team.
Demonstrate high standards of nursing care, reflecting the ethos of NMC Code of Conduct.
To develop and maintain specialist knowledge of nursing practice relevant to the clinical area.
To undertake the responsibilities associated with being a mentor and preceptor reflecting the beliefs about professional nursing practice and patient care.
Demonstrably contribute towards the continuing development of professional nursing practice in the department.
To conduct oneself in a professional manner and be a role model to others at all times
