At Axil, we're transforming the way businesses handle waste -- making it safer, smarter, and more sustainable. As our new Site Chemist, you'll be at the forefront of that mission, ensuring waste is handled compliantly and efficiently while supporting our customers and our on-site operations.

?? The Role




You'll work alongside Site Management, Chemists, and Operatives to ensure all waste entering and leaving the Cannock Transfer Station is safely processed, tested, stored, and moved.


This is a hands-on role perfect for a Chemist who likes variety, responsibility, and being part of a growing, forward-thinking organisation.

? What You'll Be Doing



Inspecting and processing incoming waste loads Arranging and preparing outgoing loads for dispatch Managing stock control in line with PPC Permit requirements Conducting sampling, testing, and pre-acceptance checks Completing all necessary documentation and operational records Carrying out daily inspections, logs, and signage checks Supporting waste movement, storage, and segregation on-site Working collaboratively with other Chemists, the Site Manager, and Operatives Maintaining excellent housekeeping standards Preparing and identifying waste at customer sites (once experienced) Ensuring compliance with HSE, EA and other regulatory bodies Promoting Axil's culture of proactive safety Continuing your professional development and competence

?? What You'll Bring



HNC in Chemistry (or suitable variant) Counterbalance FLT licence (training provided if you don't have one yet)

?? Skills & Experience



Experience or working knowledge of the waste management industry Confident communicator, able to work with all levels of the organisation Strong organisational skills with the ability to plan and manage your workload Comfortable learning and using software systems A collaborative team player with sound decision-making and problem-solving skills

Job specifics



Hours of work are Monday to Friday, 8am - 5pm Salary is from 26.5k per annum but will be dependant on experience
