Alpha Construction Ltd are looking for a dedicated and highly skilled Site Engineer to work on various prestigious projects throughout the UK, The role requires a strong understanding of engineering principles and the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders on-site. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing construction projects, ensuring that they are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. Ideally you will have Experience with Industrial buildings, small/medium scale civil engineering projects, drainage and concrete structures.

The role is site based and will require lodging away form home during the week (a generous lodging allowance is provided) Previous knowledge of Power T & D, Battery storage, anaerobic digestion and renewable energies projects would be an advantage but not essential for the right person

The Company



Established over 40 years ago Alpha Construction Ltd are a privately owned Civils contractor dedicated to successfully delivering a diverse range of projects across the UK. Operating in the Energy, industrial and commercial sectors our projects vary in value from 500k to 10 million.

Main Purpose of job



Responsible for all engineering aspects of the construction of the works, and in particular for ensuring that accurate dimensional control is achieved.

Responsibilities



1.Planning and Cost Control



Together with the Site Manager determining the sequence and methods of setting out the works to achieve the required tolerances. Advising the Site Manager of the surveying resources required to assist in ensuring that the work is completed to programme.

2. Safety



Ensuring that all work is undertaken with full regard for the safety of all personnel within the site, and for the general public. Implementing the Company Health and Safety Policy with respect to site engineering activities, and to assist in operating the Health and Safety Plan on site.

3. Production



Ensuring that the works are accurately set out and constructed in accordance with the contract documentation. Assist in co-ordinating labour, plant, sub-contractors, and supplies of materials to ensure that production is completed within planned cost and duration.

i. Labour Assist in organising and controlling site labour force. Assist in maintaining satisfactory discipline on site.

ii.Plant Ensuring surveying equipment is used effectively; that costs are within budgeted limits, and that they are in good condition and properly maintained

iii.Sub-Contractors Assist in co-ordinating all sub-contractors, including monitoring and controlling quality and accuracy. iv. Materials Assist in ensuring that materials are received, checked, handled, stored and installed with the minimum of damage and waste.

4. Financial Control



i. Assisting QS Department by maintaining records of existing and finished ground levels, obstructions, pipework lengths and depths, etc.

ii.Ensuring all variations and changes are recorded in writing.

iii.Ensuring all Dayworks are properly recorded in a timely manner.

iv. Assisting Contracts/Accounts Departments to resolve invoice queries promptly.

5. Site Control



i. Assist Site Manager in completing and processing site administration documents.

ii.Undertaking reviews of all drawings and other documents so that any discrepancies may be resolved at an early stage.

iii.Undertaking and recording all specified testing of materials or finished work. iv. Recording actual progress achieved against site programme.

v.Assist in implementing the Company Integrated Management System with respect to site activities.

6. Personnel



i. Delegating to sub-ordinates the necessary authority to enable them to discharge their duties, whilst retaining ultimate responsibility for their actions.

ii.Assist in maintaining high standards of motivation within the work force.

7. Public Relations



Assist in representing the Company on site and in maintaining good relations with the Client (and his representatives), sub-contractors, suppliers, statutory undertakers, and the general public.

8. Commercial

Assisting to obtain additional construction work for the Company, and ensuring that all transactions are carried out in a proper and professional manner.

9. Communications

Keeping sub-ordinates informed of all matters affecting the efficient operation of the site. Advising the Site Manager of any significant developments that affect the regular process of the works.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: 40,000.00-45,000.00 per year
