Site Engineer | Civil Engineering Contractor | Country Durham

The company:
You will be joining a company that bring over 40 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience across the Northeast and Yorkshire, in a number of sectors including water and wastewater infrastructure, highways, industrial and energy, public realm, environmental, marine, river and coastal.
They deliver large stand alone projects, support major projects, and have a dedicated minor works team.
They are a primary contractor for several frameworks such as Yorkshire water, NEPO Civil Engineering, North Yorkshire Country Council, Durham County Council, and the Coal Authority Minewater treatment framework.

Responsibilities:

• Setting out and surveying of construction site.
• Ensuring that all works are complete to the latest revisions of construction drawings.
• Deliver site inductions including completion of the associated attendance briefing sheet.
• Ensuring the works are completed without harm and in line with Safety, Health & Environmental standards.
• Ensuring that all deliveries are fully checked before being signed for.
• The delivery of daily briefings to all site-based personnel.
• Ensuring the works are completed to correct quality in accordance with relevant specifications and construction drawings.
• Daily management of site operatives and subcontractors.
• Notifying Wages and Human Resources of any absence (authorised or unauthorised) and sickness.
• Ensuring all relevant documents are returned to Head Office.
• Ensuring adequate dilapidation survey / pre\xe2\x80\x90start photographs are taken prior to commencing on\xe2\x80\x90site.
• Ensuring adequate progress photographs are taken during the construction phase of the project. This includes daily photographs of all work fronts irrespective of progress made or if works are \xe2\x80\x98standing\xe2\x80\x99.
• Ensuring adequate completion photographs are taken upon completion of the works.
• Collation of as\xe2\x80\x90built construction information.

• Appropriate knowledge of construction methods and specifications required to complete the works.
• Good communication skills \xe2\x80\x93 written and verbal.
• Good interpersonal skills \xe2\x80\x93 ability to liaise with site team.
• Site Supervisor Safety Training Scheme (SSSTS).
• Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) Site supervisor\xe2\x80\x99s card.
• NVQ Level 3 construction supervisor.
• Temporary Works Supervisor.
• New Roads and Street works Act (NRASWA) Supervisor.
• First Aid Certificate.
• Full driving licence.
