Our client, Taylor Woodrow, a leading infrastructure and civil engineering specialist, is seeking a Site Engineer to support the delivery of major projects across their infrastructure portfolio.
The successful candidate will be responsible for accurate setting out, managing day-to-day site operations, and ensuring that works such as drainage, kerbing, paving, and surfacing are delivered safely, efficiently, on time, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Carry out core site engineering tasks, including precise setting out using engineering drawings, specifications, and control points.
Deliver key aspects of external civil works--pavement construction, road surfacing, kerb laying, and drainage installation--ensuring full compliance with project and regulatory requirements.
Operate Leica TS16 Total Stations and GPS surveying equipment for accurate data capture and high-precision layout.
Coordinate daily activities with subcontractors, suppliers, and site teams to maintain smooth project delivery.
Manage the full project cycle of assigned tasks, from site setup through to final handover, upholding standards of safety, quality, and efficiency.
Review, interpret, and implement technical drawings, method statements, and risk assessments to support safe and effective on-site execution.
Person Specification:
Degree, HND, or HNC in Civil Engineering (or related discipline).
Valid CSCS card appropriate to role.
Demonstrable experience in setting out and site engineering within civil engineering or infrastructure projects.
Proficiency in surveying instruments, particularly Leica Total Stations (e.g., TS16) and GPS equipment.
Strong understanding of construction methodologies, health & safety protocols, and quality assurance processes.
Ability to read, interpret, and apply engineering drawings, specifications, and method statements.
Competent in AutoCAD and experienced in preparing site documentation and reports.
