We are looking for an experienced Site Engineering Manager to lead the engineering function at our Scunthorpe site. This is a critical role ensuring the smooth operation of all factory machinery, minimising downtime, and driving continuous improvement. You will act as a trusted advisor to the Factory Manager and lead on compliance, safety, and engineering strategy.
Key Responsibilities
Ensure adherence to health, safety, food safety, and environmental standards.
Lead planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and rapid response to breakdowns.
Develop and implement cost-effective engineering strategies aligned with business needs.
Maintain accurate maintenance records and manage critical spares inventory.
Oversee contractor control and ensure compliance with engineering standards.
Manage site utilities and participate in business continuity planning.
Lead engineering capital projects from proposal to delivery.
Experience
Proven engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
Strong mechanical and electrical maintenance skills; PLC knowledge desirable.
Knowledge of health & safety, food safety, and environmental compliance.
Experience in developing engineering strategies and managing budgets.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Computer literate with ability to use in-house systems.
Qualifications
Electrical bias with relevant qualifications (HND or equivalent).
Engineering apprenticeship or NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent).
HACCP training and FLT license desirable.
