Summary
We are seeking a Facilities and Maintenance Assistant to join our team at Lionel Hitchen Ltd. This role is essential for maintaining the operational efficiency of our facilities, ensuring a safe and functional environment for our employees. Located in Andover, this position plays a vital part in supporting our mission to deliver high-quality flavour ingredients.
Responsibilities
Cleaning of VW warehouse and associated outside areas
Cleaning of all yard areas / Waste Storage Areas / Warehouse Buildings
GMP hygiene schedules of work & action of pick-up points
Accurate recording of scheduled cleaning activities via CMMS maintenance computer system
Site wide (VW) maintenance and repairs, including building, plumbing, electrical and assembly in accordance with competent skills set
Site Wide planned maintenance/basic tasks.
Maintain site compliance through documentation and completion of:
1. Emergency lighting testing
2. Portable appliance testing
3. Legionella water testing
4. Fire alarm testing
5. Operation of COMAH emergency systems
6. Known contractor control and associated permit control.
7. Spill response
8. Site Emergency response
Ownership of site upkeep including:
1. External/Garden maintenance
2. Site decoration
3. First Aid kits
Organise and maintain the engineering store and office area
Ad-hoc roles in keeping with site requirements
Requirements
Numerate and literate
Basic knowledge of food hygiene
Cleaning and site hygiene experience.
Good range of DIY skills (plumbing, carpentry, painting & general maintenance)
Basic engineering aptitude
Previous experience of working in a highly regulated manufacturing environment, preferably in food or pharmaceutical industry
Good communication skills
Understand department key performance indicators, how to influence them and how to contribute to Company goals
