Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Grounds Maintenance Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for outdoor work and a strong understanding of landscape maintenance. This role involves maintaining the aesthetics and functionality of outdoor spaces, ensuring they are well-kept and inviting. The Grounds Maintenance Worker will utilise various hand and power tools to perform tasks efficiently while adhering to safety standards.

Responsibilities

Perform regular groundskeeping duties including mowing, trimming, and edging lawns. Maintain flower beds, gardens, and landscaped areas by planting, watering, and weeding. Operate and maintain hand tools and power tools safely and effectively. Assist in the installation and maintenance of irrigation systems to ensure proper watering of plants. Monitor the health of plants and landscapes, identifying any issues such as pests or diseases. Clear debris from walkways, parking lots, and other outdoor areas to maintain cleanliness. Collaborate with team members to complete larger landscaping projects as needed. Follow all health and safety regulations while performing maintenance tasks.

Requirements

Previous experience in groundskeeping or landscape maintenance Familiarity with gardening techniques, including planting, pruning, and irrigation methods. Ability to operate various hand tools (e.g., shears, rakes) and power tools (e.g., lawn mowers, blowers). Strong attention to detail with an eye for maintaining aesthetic appeal in outdoor spaces. Physical stamina to perform manual labour outdoors in varying weather conditions. Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team environment.
