We seek to strengthen the leadership team at our Yeovil Tritech Group Foundry with the position of "Head of Production who will be the Yeovil site Lead reporting into the COO.
You will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to ensure that all operations run efficiently to meet the organisation's goals, manage and optimise the processes of a business relating to production, maintenance and inventory control. You will lead a team of production supervisors and workers, driving continuous improvement initiatives and implementing best practices to optimise processes and achieve operational excellence.
The ideal candidate is an engineering graduate having 10+ years' experience with a background in Production management and Planning and experience with complex manufacturing processes and Precision Engineering. Your will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of manufacturing operations, ensuring efficiency, quality, and safety standards are met.
The candidate will need to show leadership ability to drive transformational cultural change to enable the business to deliver operational efficiency.
Proven track record of success in driving operational excellence, improving manufacturing processes, and delivering results in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
Develop and execute manufacturing strategies aligned with company objectives to maximise productivity and profitability.
Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track and evaluate manufacturing performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions as necessary.
Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, supply chain, quality assurance, and other departments to ensure seamless coordination and execution of manufacturing plans.
Drive operational excellence initiatives, including lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and process optimisation, to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and improve quality. Drive production planning and achieve operational efficiencies with tools
Must have in-depth exposure to PFMEA / PPAP / FAIR etc.
Responsible for production planning and ensuring preventive maintenance is carried out at regular intervals.
Manage customer audits and ensure necessary corrective actions are taken. Manager customer queries and guide them through the manufacturing process and operations.
Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and protocols, promoting a safe work environment and implementing appropriate training programs and safety measures.
Develop and manage manufacturing budgets, controlling costs and expenses while optimising resource utilisation.
Stay abreast of industry trends, technological advancements, and best practices in manufacturing, implementing innovative solutions to enhance competitiveness and drive growth.
Maintain effective communication channels with internal stakeholders, providing regular updates on manufacturing performance, challenges, and opportunities.
Assists in new product launches, production and engineering improvements, product quality.
Works closely with peers to focus on continuous improvements that will benefit Operations.
Lead and facilitate monthly safety meetings and lead/assist in the resolution of safety items.
Proficient in project management, budgeting, and resource allocation.

Essential Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
Master's Degree
or MBA in Operations Management or a related discipline (Not Essential)
Essential Experience
Minimum of 10-15 years of experience in production or operations management within a foundry or similar manufacturing environment.
Proven track record of leading complex manufacturing processes and implementing process improvements.
Strong knowledge of casting processes (e.g., investment casting, sand casting) (Ideal but not essential)
Proficiency in process engineering and production workflows.
Familiarity with MRP/ERP systems for production planning and resource management.
Demonstrated ability to lead and manage cross-functional teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Experience in budget management and resource allocation.
Experience in implementing Lean Manufacturing principles and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
Strong analytical skills with a focus on data-driven decision-making.
Thorough understanding of health and safety regulations relevant to manufacturing and foundry operations.
Experience or knowledgeable with quality standards (e.g., ISO9001, AS9100).
Desirable Experience
Lean Six Sigma Certification (Green Belt or Black Belt preferred).
Health and Safety Certification (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH Managing Safely)
