As a Site Manager, you will oversee warehouse operations of your site and will be responsible for managing all aspects of site operations, including profit and loss (P&L) management, site development initiatives, developing strategic partnerships and building and maintaining positive relationships with existing and prospective clients through excellent communication to enhance profitability and identify new opportunities.
You will also be required to ensure your site complies with health and safety regulations and drive the companies Health & Safety Culture. You will play a crucial role in fostering a positive work environment and leading a team of warehouse personnel.
In addition, this role has the potential to development into a General Manager.
Main responsibilities:
Develop and implement strategies to optimise revenue generation and cost efficiency.
Monitor and analyse financial performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions as necessary.
Collaborate with senior management to set and achieve yearly site budgets.
Identify opportunities for site expansion or improvement to meet the needs of clients and the business.
Lead site development projects through to completion, ensuring timely execution and adherence to budgetary constraints.
Evaluate and implement technology-driven solutions to enhance operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
Cultivate strong relationships with existing clients, serving as the primary point of contact for enquiries, concerns and feedback.
Collaborate with clients to understand their business objectives and develop customised solutions to maximise profitability.
Proactively identify opportunities to enhance revenue and profitability and client satisfaction.
Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations and company policies using tools and systems provided by MC compliance team and rollout to all warehouse staff.
Ensure regular inspections and audits are carried out on site and actions managed.
Recruit, train, and supervise warehouse personnel, fostering a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
Set performance objectives and conduct regular performance reviews to assess individual and team performance.
Provide mentorship, coaching, and support to develop the skills and capabilities of team members.
What we are looking for...
Profile:
Proven experience in warehouse management or logistics operations, with a focus on P&L management and site development.
Strong financial acumen and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret financial data and make data-driven decisions.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with clients, senior management, and team members.
Awareness of health and safety and best practices within a warehouse to IOSH level.
Overall responsibility for fire safety and first aider provisions on site; including being a site fire marshall
Technical competencies:
Experience working in the 3pl Logistics sector
A warehouse CPC or equivalent
Proficiency in warehouse management systems (WMS) and other relevant software applications
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office packages e.g. PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel & Word
Adaptable IT skills and good attention to detail
IOSH qualification would be advantageous
MHE qualifications are essential

Benefits:
25 days annual leave. This increase by 1 day per year from 3 years service until a maximum of 28 days is accrued. Plus bank holidays.
