We are seeking an experienced and proactive Site Manager to oversee civil engineering projects in the Sunderland, ensuring high standards of safety, quality, and efficiency. This role requires a hands-on leader with expertise in Earthworks, Roads & Sewers, and Housing Plotworks up to DPC. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of site operations, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to inspire a workforce to deliver projects on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
Health, Safety, and Compliance:
Promote and maintain a culture of safety on-site, adhering to Health and Safety standards and best practices.
Conduct regular safety and quality inspections, ensuring compliance with all regulations.
Hold a minimum of SSSTS, First Aid at Work qualifications, and a relevant CSCS card.
Project Management and Supervision:
Supervise and motivate directly employed teams and subcontractors to achieve project objectives.
Monitor project progress, prepare valuations, and provide regular updates to senior management.
Take a proactive approach to day-to-day problem-solving and resolve any site issues promptly.
Technical Oversight:
Oversee and coordinate Earthworks, Roads & Sewers, and Housing Plotworks up to DPC.
Review and prepare site reports, designs, and drawings to ensure accuracy and alignment with project requirements.
Conduct take-offs and order materials from supply chains, ensuring timely delivery.
Client and Stakeholder Communication:
Liaise with clients, providing progress updates and maintaining strong working relationships.
Represent Caddick Civil Engineering at site meetings, ensuring client satisfaction and project alignment.
IT and Reporting:
Use IT tools such as Word, Excel, and project management software to manage reports, schedules, and documentation.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Proven experience in civil engineering site management, with expertise in Earthworks, Roads & Sewers, and Housing Plotworks.
Strong understanding of Health and Safety in the construction environment.
Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and manage a diverse team.
Proficiency in IT, including Microsoft Word and Excel, with experience in project scheduling tools.
Ability to plan, prioritize, and organize tasks to meet deadlines effectively.
A valid SSSTS certification, First Aid at Work qualification, and a relevant CSCS card.
