An opportunity has arisen for you to join one of Lincolnshires premier building contractors. Having recently commemorated 25 years in business we're now looking for an energetic, forward-thinking individual to help us evolve the business and realise our vision for the future.
We have an exciting opportunity available for a Site Manager to join our team on a full time, permanent basis.
You'll join a diverse, visionary team that is transitioning towards service delivery underpinned by the values and principals outlined in the construction playbook. We're striving for continual improvement in order that we meet and exceed the future demands of the construction industry and its clients as illustrated by the green agenda and a move towards early contractor engaging through D&B contracting.
Our DNA
You'll be joining a business that is intent on positively changing its teams and culture and we're keen to have somebody join our team who is focused, confident and has integrity to do the right thing. A low staff turnover rate and an average year served at the business in excess of 12 years signifies that once you join us, you're going to stop and you'll grow as an individual.
We're excited to have someone join our team who thinks outside the box and has broad enough shoulders to make mistakes but be accountable. You'll develop a close working relationship with the business owners and directors who are hands on and operate in a relatively flat organisational structure. Humility and self-awareness are important in the business. We'll celebrate the successes with you and commiserate in any lows. There isn't a blame culture, instead mistakes are pointed out and we hold our hands up to our failings.
Your interactions
You'll manage the site-based activities on our construction projects. You'll be expected to effectively plan, organise and control resources on building projects between 500,000 and 4m.
You need to be able to work collaboratively with our Contracts Manager and Site Foreman to report into a network of consultants that support our clients. Our design and build contracts also require a non-adversarial approach when working with architects, engineers whom you'll have to coordinate with after their selection and appointment.
It's important that you keep our entire team appraised of performance and you'll interface with our Contracts Manager, Quantity Surveyor, Health and Safety Manager to keep a close eye on a number of factors affecting our business performance and reputation.
The Role
As a Site Manager you'll lead and manage a number of operatives on site that are directly employed by us. You'll be expected to use people management skills to motivate site personnel (including subcontractors) and set SMART objectives so that projects are finished on time and within budget. We'll need you to be able to work across LN, DN and Humberside postcodes.
We need you to have proven experience of effective site management and leadership in the construction industry on new build and refurbishment projects. We need you to be skilled in effective planning, organisation and control of resources using a suite of documentation including RFI's, programmes and resourcing schedules. Your experience of managing a variety of JCT/NEC contracts up to 4M with varying construction techniques and methods will help the business achieve its vision of working along the Humber bank and throughout Lincolnshire on housing and commercial work.
Developing and improving business culture and team performance on site will also be key. Your prior experience of doing so will help us in our continued efforts to become an integral team player on local and regional frameworks.
