Job Description

Site Manager - Building Refurbishment

Casey

Salary: 45,000 - 55,000 DOE plus 4,000 Car Allowance & Benefits

Sheffield, South Yorkshire

Full-time, Permanent

We are currently recruiting for a Site Manager to manage one of our building refurbishment projects in Sheffield, South Yorkshire

You will be based at Brunswick Gardens Retirement Village in the Woodhouse area of Sheffield, South Yorkshire.

We are 3 years into a 5 year project on the 217-apartment site carrying out numerous M&E fire safety improvements, including fire alarm upgrades, emergency lighting, warden call systems, domestic & commercial wiring, extraction systems, and much more!

Who are we looking for?

We're looking for an experienced Site Manager with a solid M&E background, particularly in fire safety systems such as fire alarms, dry risers, emergency lighting, warden call systems, and both commercial and domestic wiring. You'll be working in a live retirement village setting, so a strong understanding of compliance, resident safety, and professionalism is essential.

The nature of the work may involve accessing hidden services--behind walls, under floors, or within kitchens and bathrooms--so experience in general building works is important. A background in joinery would be ideal, along with a good working knowledge of plumbing, plastering, painting, and finishing works to ensure everything is reinstated to a high standard.

You'll be responsible for managing subcontractors, coordinating day-to-day site activity, and ensuring temporary works like scaffolding and fencing are properly handled. A proactive approach, problem-solving mindset, and high standards of quality and health & safety are key.

A CSCS Black Card is essential, along with SMSTS and First Aid qualifications. If you're a practical, well-rounded professional who can confidently lead refurbishment works in sensitive, live environments, we'd love to hear from you.
