Job Description

We are currently seeking a Site Maintenance Officer to join our dedicated team, supporting the upkeep and smooth operation of our school sites across Warwickshire.



Reporting to the School Site Manager, you will be responsible for maintaining the school buildings and grounds, ensuring a safe, clean, and compliant environment for pupils, staff, and visitors.



Your primary base will be at our new location for Arc Oakbridge School in Handsworth, with regular visits to support two other schools in Warwickshire where needed. Flexibility will be required to work occasional unsociable hours to meet operational needs.



Please note that this is a full time, year round position.

What you'll be doing:

Carry out proactive and reactive maintenance across the site. Deputise for the Site Manager when required. Support statutory compliance checks and use the Civica asset management system. Conduct internal and external maintenance, including minor repairs, groundskeeping, and cleaning. Ensure the security of the premises, including alarm systems and emergency call-outs. Maintain and inspect school vehicles. Supervise contractors and support logistics for school events and activities. Uphold health and safety standards and attend relevant training.

What we're looking for:

Experience in site maintenance, facilities, or a similar role. Ability to work independently and use initiative to solve problems. Strong understanding of health and safety regulations. Willingness to travel between sites and work flexible hours. Full UK driving licence. Basic IT skills and willingness to use digital systems (e.g., iPads for compliance checks). A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. Experience in a school or educational setting. PAT testing certification. First Aid at Work qualification (or willingness to train).

Opened in 2018, Arc Oakbridge School is an independent special day school in the Jewellery Quarter, Birmingham with a specially designed learning environment created to meet the needs of autistic children. We provide a calm, low arousal, safe, positive and nurturing place where young people can learn and grow. We will shortly be moving to a brand new state of the art school in Handsworth.
