Accelerated Leadership Programme

We are seeking motivated and proactive individuals to join our specialist weatherproofing team as a full-time site operative with the opportunity to progress through our new fast-track Accelerated Leadership Programme to work with our site teams over the UK.

Jones Weatherproofing is a family run specialist construction company that provides roof weatherproofing systems as well as roof and wall penetration services. With over 45 years of experience, we have built a reputation for providing market leading solutions for the construction industry. We have worked on a wide range of prestigious projects across the UK and overseas.

About the role

This is a stepping stone to work towards a site-based leadership position. You'll begin learning from experienced Jones Weatherproofing team leaders and site supervisors and work up from 'on the tools' into supervisory position to ensure that our high standard of quality and pride in workmanship are passed down.

This 'ground-up' approach will train the next generation of technical weatherproofing experts who will ultimately go on to manage multiple site teams on prestigious projects across the UK and abroad.

Training is provided, however successful applications will require a full UK driving license and a CSCS card.

Skills required include:

- High level of computer literacy

- Able to interpret basic drawings

- Effective communication with office

- Effective communication with site colleagues

- Basic admin and the ability to manage workloads using drawings, schedules and references

- Basic problem solving

- Positive and progressive attitude

- Attention to detail and pride in your work

- Responsibility for your own and colleagues health and safety

We will work will you to develop the following skills:

- Efficient job administration i.e jobsheets/RAMS/ 3pm photos

- Proactive management of workload e.g progress spreadsheets

- Represent Jones Weatherproofing and act as a link between office and site staff

- Provide own project updates to client and attend client facing meetings

- Basic client facing surveys

- Efficient management of materials

- Deliver outstanding quality and pace of work

- Develop junior colleague

- Integration into HR processes i.e reviews and feedback

As you progress through the programme you will demonstrate:

- Advanced job administration i.e DABS/ A-site

- Proactive communication and management with client

- Different ways of developing juniors

- Ability to maintain quality throughout larger team

- Experience of developing successful team leaders

- Complete management of project unless need for escalation

- Ability to carry out complex client surveys and walkarounds

No previous experience or specialist knowledge is required as extensive training will be provided.

You will have the opportunity to work towards certification such as SSSTS, PASMA, IPAF and NVQ's.

This position involves regularly working away. Accommodation is booked and paid for and 'working away' allowances apply. Weekend working is available, but this is completely optional. Weekend work is paid at overtime rates.

Starting salary

: Estimated salary of around 40,000 per annum inclusive of overtime and other allowances based on rate of 14 P/H (8 hours per day, anything outside of these hours is classed as overtime and is paid at a higher rate).

A typical working day could be 6am-4pm, but this does vary.

You are paid door to door.

Monday - Friday Overtime (Over 8 hours) - 18.67 P/H.

Saturday - 21 P/H

Sunday - 28P/H (Weekends optional)
