The Site Quality Engineer for Mechanical Erection is responsible for overseeing and ensuring the quality compliance of mechanical installation activities at a nuclear power plant construction site. This includes both static components (e.g., heat exchangers, pressure vessels) and rotating components (e.g., pumps, compressors). The role requires close coordination with construction teams, quality control personnel, and regulatory bodies to ensure adherence to project specifications, codes, and standards.


Coordinate with the client to ensure timely notification and facilitation of all Witness and Hold Points as defined in the Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), ensuring compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements.


Monitor and inspect mechanical erection activities to ensure compliance with quality standards and project specifications.


Review and approve quality documentation including Inspection Test Plans (ITPs), welding procedures, and material certificates.


Witness inspections and tests on static components such as pressure vessels, and heat exchangers.


Witness quality checks on rotating equipment installations including alignment, vibration testing, and commissioning readiness.


Coordinate with third-party inspectors and regulatory authorities for required inspections and approvals, if required.


Identify and report non-conformances, initiate corrective actions, and verify resolution effectiveness.


Ensure accuracy and timeliness submission of Inspection & tests records, and quality documentation.


Support root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives related to mechanical erection quality, when required.


Ensure compliance with nuclear safety and quality assurance requirements throughout the erection process.


Participate in quality audits and contribute to quality improvement plans.


Qualifications


Formal qualification Mechanical Engineering or related field.


Minimum 3-5 years of experience in quality engineering within large-scale industrial or nuclear construction projects.


Strong knowledge of mechanical erection processes, codes (EN, ISO), and quality standards.


Experience with static and rotating equipment inspection and testing.


Familiarity with nuclear safety and regulatory requirements.


Excellent communication and documentation skills.


Certification in quality management (e.g., ISO 9001, ASQ CQE) is an asset.
