Site Rendering Manager

As part of the J G Pears Group, P Waddington and Co (1947) Ltd has a long and proud history of collecting and processing category 1 & 2 animal by-products and fallen stock. Based in Bradford, West Yorkshire we recycle animal by-products into energy and biofuels through our products of tallow and meat and bone meal.

We are looking to appoint a Site Rendering Manager who will oversee the safe and reliable operation and maintenance of the site facility. The successful applicant will be responsible and accountable for the operation of the site, ensuring that all systems and compliance aspects are implemented and managed effectively and efficiently - health, safety, environmental, quality, plant performance etc.

Responsibilities

Daily management of the site, ensuring the engineering and production departments are running and operating safely, efficiently and effectively meeting health, safety and environmental requirements and the needs of the customer/business and prioritize according to the demands.

Implement and report on site KPIs to the Board. Manage maintenance and implement and manage critical spares for the site. Available (on call) 24 hours in an advisory and supporting function. Manage the site health, safety and environmental permits. Maintain staff by recruiting, selecting and training employees; legal work, planning, monitoring, appraising, coaching and disciplining employees through policies and procedures.

Requirements

Preferably an engineering qualification HNC/HND or proven mechanical and/or electrical experience. Proven senior operations management experience of at least 5 years, ideally with NVQ 5 or equivalent management qualification. Knowledge and experience of permit and standard operating systems and their implementation. Drive and motivation to be successful in leading a skilled team.
