We're currently looking for a dedicated and experienced Site Security Lead to join our team at DEFRA BCP Bastion Point in Dover.


What you'll do:

Promote a strong safety culture by championing the Seven Safety Nets, encouraging incident reporting, and addressing safety concerns through regular patrols and prompt escalation of near misses or faulty equipment. Lead and manage the Security Team, ensuring adherence to Assignment Instructions (AIs), SOPs, and Sodexo's Code of Conduct, while maintaining service continuity through effective scheduling, shift coverage, and operational oversight. Provide incident response and support, acting as tactical support to the SOL during emergencies, supervising fire evacuations, and stepping up as SOL when required. Drive team performance and development by completing PDRs, coaching staff, supporting training initiatives, and managing HR casework including attendance and performance. Ensure operational excellence through effective communication, professional service delivery, stakeholder engagement, and accurate handovers between shifts. Support site coordination and compliance, overseeing equipment allocation, contractor access, and maintaining service standards in line with contractual obligations--including attending off-site meetings as needed.

What you bring:

Valid SIA Guarding and CCTV licences with proven experience leading security teams. Strong communication skills, able to engage effectively with colleagues, clients, and stakeholders. Self-motivated and team-orientated, with the ability to work independently or collaboratively. Detail-orientated and safety-conscious, with experience in manual handling and accuracy in all tasks. Tech-savvy and numerate, proficient in Microsoft Office and confident in problem-solving under pressure.

Package Description
+ 40 hours per week + Monday to Friday
+ between 33,000 and 35,000 per annum
