The Role



We are seeking a hands-on and proactive Site Technician to join the Technology Team at our project site in Cornwood, Devon. Reporting to the Senior Test Site Engineer, you will be instrumental in keeping our site running smoothly and efficiently, acting as an essential link between site personnel, internal and external stakeholders and project management.

As the principal key holder and site-warden, your presence will provide continuity, safety and efficient operations from Monday to Friday. You will be the primary project site representative for stakeholders such as visitors, contractors, and deliveries as well as coordinating team members coming to site and leading Health and Safety functions.

Beyond operational coordination, the role will have an important technical support element, where you will contribute to running the system itself, and be part of on-going maintenance and system enhancements. This will be a rewarding and interesting opportunity that can broaden your technical skills via exposure to the development programme of our pivotal proof-of-concept project.

Your responsibilities:



To provide on-site coordination and technical assistance to engineering activities Attend to or coordinate site maintenance To operate key Health and Safety functions including response, routine checks, risk assessments, reporting, equipment, and maintenance of welfare facilities Ensure site personnel follow correct site policy and process, while ensuring all records are maintained and all standards and best practices are adhered to Lead efforts in overall site upkeep, including security, cleanliness, tidiness and accessibility Be the day-to-day or first point of contact for site activity, including the landlord, local authority and any neighbours Receive and manage deliveries (record keeping, storage, and organisation) Help coordinate and support site-visits from the commercial team (investors, customers, government stakeholders) Communicate regular updates to team including conditions, risks, planned activities as well as provide brief weekly update reports Deliver site inductions, toolbox talks, safety bulletins, etc, ensuring all personnel receive necessary and relevant information consistently throughout operations

The ideal candidate will:



Possess technical skills and mechanical aptitude, with experience and proficiency in computing as a plus First Aid and SMSTS certifications will be required (training can be provided) Have a proactive attitude and approach to improving the site operating condition Recognise opportunities or gaps in the operation of the site and on a consensus basis, implement improvements Possess a positive attitude, thrive in a team environment and be passionate about making a difference Be a good communicator and able to liaise with a variety of people including the visitors, suppliers and team members
