Job Description

We are seeking a practical, organised

Site Trainer

to deliver effective training to a multilingual workforce in a fast-paced fish processing environment.

The role ensures that all staff are trained safely, confidently, and in line with company standards and audit requirements.

Key Responsibilities



Deliver specific induction and on-the-job training, where appropriate, for new starters within their departments. Ensure all training is fully understood and staff are confident and competent before sign-off. Provide additional coaching to lower-performing employees as needed. Conduct refresher training on mandatory subjects and update teams on any changes to policies or procedures. Train staff on production processes, hygiene, allergen controls, CCPs, GMP, safe equipment use and correct PPE. Support the Health & Safety team by helping deliver Risk Assessments and Safe Methods of Work. Maintain accurate training records, signed documentation, training matrices and audit-ready paperwork. Assist in developing training materials for companywide use. Identify learning barriers and offer simple, practical solutions to improve understanding. Adjust training plans to meet production demands in a fast-moving environment.

Communication



Liaise with Departmental Supervisors & Managers addressing any concerns and/or additional training requirements. Communicate company policies, procedures, and expectations clearly to Company employees. Escalate any training-related issues to the Factory Manager when appropriate.

General Duties



Uphold high standards of housekeeping and maintain a safe working environment. Comply with all Health & Safety requirements and promote safe behaviours. Participate in development and training programmes to support company goals. Demonstrate professionalism, patience and positive leadership at all times.

Ideal Candidate



Experience in manufacturing or food production (fish processing experience preferred). Strong communication skills and ability to train staff with varied English levels, including Polish, Latvian, Lithuanian and other languages. Additional support provided for translation purposes when required. Hands-on, patient, organised and confident delivering practical training on the line.
