Plan B Management Solutions has grown significantly in the last 5 years, and are now about to open their first Materials Recycling Facility (MRF) in Cardiff. Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Site Operative to join our expanding team. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a proactive approach to health and safety, possess strong operational skills, and the ability to manage tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Duties

Unload vehicles and equipment in accordance with company procedures, ensuring the use of appropriate skills and training for specific vehicles and equipment. Perform thorough pre- and post-operation checks on all plant machinery and equipment. Adhere to safe working practices, ensuring compliance with risk assessments and safety protocols at all times. Operate various plant machinery, including the Weighbridge, Baler, Sorting Line, Fork Lift Truck, and Telehandler (where qualified), in line with safety standards and legal requirements. Maintain high standards of cleanliness and operational integrity across the site, machinery, and equipment. Load and unload recycling materials, ensuring compliance with company policies, procedures, and relevant legal regulations. Carry out tasks efficiently and safely, prioritising health and safety in all activities. Employ safe lifting and handling techniques, assessing the composition, quantity, and weight of items prior to removal. Complete allocated tasks within the specified timeframes, ensuring that your Line Manager is notified before leaving the site at the end of your shift. Ensure the quality of work meets company standards and contractual obligations, supporting your team in achieving operational excellence. Engage in ongoing training and development to ensure the effective completion of your duties. Perform other reasonable tasks within the scope of the role as required by management.

Requirements

Experience with Fixed and Mobile Plant Operations Valid UK Driving Licence Ability to operate a range of plant machinery, including Telehandlers, Front-End Loaders (Loading Shovels), and FLTs JCB Telehandler qualification (desirable) FLT (Fork Lift Truck) certification (desirable) First Aid certification (desirable) Fire Marshal certification (desirable) Experience in working in a waste and recycling facility maybe advantageous, but not essential.
