We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Butcher to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in food production and culinary arts, with a keen understanding of food safety and preparation techniques. As a Butcher, you will be responsible for preparing high-quality meat products while ensuring adherence to hygiene standards and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

Prepare and cut various types of meat, including beef, pork, lamb, and poultry, according to specifications. Ensure all meat products are handled safely and stored at the correct temperatures to maintain freshness. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the butcher area, adhering to health and safety regulations. Assist in inventory management by monitoring stock levels and reporting any shortages or discrepancies. Collaborate with kitchen staff to fulfil meat orders for restaurant services efficiently. Provide excellent customer service by answering queries about meat products and offering recommendations. Perform regular equipment maintenance and ensure all tools are kept in good working condition.

Requirements

Proven experience as a Butcher or in a similar role within the restaurant or food production industry. Boning hall experience. Meat Factory experience preferred. Strong knowledge of food safety standards and best practices in food preparation. Proficiency in using butchery tools and equipment safely. Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to quality craftsmanship. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment while maintaining high standards of hygiene. Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team. A culinary qualification or relevant training is advantageous but not essential.
