Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Machinist to join our team. As a Machinist, you will be responsible for operating various machines. This is a full-time position with competitive pay and benefits.

The Role:

Manual/CNC Machining of Stainless Steel, Mild Steel, Aluminium & Plastics. Use of XYZ ProTRAK Centre lathes, traditional Milling Machines, Lathes & Pillar Drills. Working to Drawings issued with accurate dimensional tolerances. Use of precision measuring equipment such as micrometer, depth micrometer and vernier calipers. Ensure machined work is effectively carried out to high quality standards. Competently use hand, air, power & machine tools. Operation of lifting equipment required to load parts on the machine. Maintain tidiness in the workplace and practicing high standards of housekeeping & organisation. Undertake additional responsibilities and tasks as required by management. Always observe and comply with Health & Safety requirements whilst at FDS & customer premises.

Skills/Experience required:

Minimum NVQ Level 3 in Engineering or equivalent. Strong Mechanical engineering background with knowledge of measuring equipment. Previous exposure to working on a variety of different sized components. Excellent level of technical understanding. Good communication skills with the ability to understand and implement verbal and written instructions. Flexible attitude when working to tight deadlines, show commitment to 'get the job done'. The ability to work well alone using initiative or as part of a team.
