Job Overview:

We are seeking a Skilled Mechanical Fitter to join our busy workshop. The role is focused on the assembly and build of industrial mixers, with regular modification or refurbishment work on other process equipment. This is a hands-on position for someone with strong mechanical and machining skills who enjoys variety, problem-solving, and producing high-quality work.

Alongside fitting and assembly, the role also involves regular machining work. This is typically jobbing work on manual lathes and milling machines -- modifications, adjustments, and producing components to ensure everything fits together correctly during builds.

Key Responsibilities:

Assembly and build of industrial mixers and other process equipment. Regular machining work on manual lathes and milling machines (jobbing work, modifications, adjustments). Fitting and mechanical adjustment of components to achieve high-quality builds. Reading and interpreting engineering drawings. Maintaining high standards of quality and safety at all times. Supporting colleagues in keeping a clean and efficient workshop environment.

Requirements:

Proven experience as a mechanical fitter. Skilled in operating manual lathes and milling machines. Competent with workshop tools and hand tools. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings. Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship. Team player with good communication skills. Strong Health & Safety awareness.

Desirable:

Welding and fabrication experience. Forklift licence (training can be provided). Experience in process or manufacturing industries.
