Salary: From 28,254 per year (Grade 3)
About Us
NY Highways is a growing highways services and maintenance provider, serving both public and private sector clients across North Yorkshire and beyond. Our Selby team takes pride in delivering high-quality work that enhances our local communities.
Your Role
As a Skilled Operative, you'll carry out a wide range of skilled tasks including kerbing, drainage installation, patching, ironwork renewal, street furniture installation, and more. You'll also support general maintenance duties like site upkeep, traffic management, and roadside verge maintenance.
You'll work on diverse maintenance projects such as concrete work, paving, asphalt laying, fence repair, sign erecting, and vegetation management. Flexibility is key as some out-of-hours work is required.
Recent Projects
Our team recently completed improvement works on New Lane, including wider pathways, new paving, and safer crossing points. These enhancements have improved pedestrian access and revitalized the area with Yorkstone paving and conservation kerbs. Exciting new projects are on the horizon, and you could be part of them!

This is a physically active role, requiring you to work outdoors in all weathers. A reasonable level of fitness is required. Full Personal Protective Equipment, including outdoor clothing, will be provided.
