to undertake a range of routine tasks as a member of the Production team, your duties will include general slaughtering and dressing operations of carcases in accordance with agreed customer specifications. To comply at all times with food safety, legality, quality and health & safety hygiene regulations within a physically demanding, safety critical environment. Previous experience within an abattoir in a production environmental and knife sills is desirable.
Shift pattern:
Monday to Friday 06:00am start.
Key Responsibilities:
At the direction of the Team Leader or their deputy undertake a range of routine tasks associated with the slaughtering & dressing operation of lamb carcases to ensure compliance to agreed customer specifications.
Responsible for ensuring all tasks are carried out within the allocated work area, are done so in a manner to protect product safety, legality, authenticity and quality in accordance with the Food Safety Quality Management Systems (FSQM) & Health & Safety procedures.
Safe operation of cutting & saw equipment as stipulated within the relevant Standard Operating Procedure (SOP).
To maintain the highest standards of food safety and hygiene at all times, and raise any concerns with the Team Leader in the first instance.
Demonstrate a commitment to his/her own health and safety and that of others in keeping with the company Health and Safety and policies health, safety and hygiene standards in accordance with company rules and regulations.
To demonstrate personal commitment to the companies equal opportunities and diversity policies.
Where knife work is being undertaken, you will be expected to possess the relevant skill and aptitude for the role. (knife safety induction training must be completed before commencement of knife work).
Where machinery work is being undertaken, you will be expected to be proficient in the use of all relevant machinery and tools that are required to fulfil the role. This includes the use of saws, cutting equipment etc.
