In order to keep us with soaring demand, we are currently recruiting for skilled welders to add to our expanding team. We have opportunities available on both dayshift and evening shift.
Main duties & responsibilities:
- Reading & interpreting engineering drawings
- Welding to a high standard using a three phase MIG welder to manufacture hydraulic cylinders
- Tacking & final welding mild steel
- Operating workshop machinery (hand power tools)
- Conducting in-process quality checks
- Working to set efficiency targets
- Engaging with company MRP system
- Operating in line with H & S policy
- Maintaining high levels of housekeeping
- Any other duties, within reason & capability, as determined by team leader
Essential Criteria:
- Minimum of 2 years welding experience (preferably MIG)
- Ability to accurately read & interpret Autocad drawings
- Experience of welding to a high standard using a three phase MIG welder
- Ability to tack & final weld steel using a three phase MIG welder
- Experience of operating workshop machinery
- Ability to work in a meticulous manner, paying close attention to workmanship
- Initiative and capable of working independently
- Meticulous in approach to welding quality
- Ensuring product is clean & free from any excess weld / splatter / grease for the next stage of the production process
- Appreciation of & willingness to adhere to H & S policy in place
- Ability to work consistently to set efficiency targets
- Excellent communication skills both verbal & written
- Willingness to be flexible in accordance with the business need
Desirable Criteria:
- Welding qualification (NVQ or equivalent)
- Experience in a precision engineering environment
- Experience working with hydraulics / pressured vessels
- Recognised as fully coded by a relevant awarding body
- Knowledge of welding automation processes is advantageous but not essential
Dayshift hours of work:
Mon - Thurs: 07:30 - 16:30
Fri: 07:30 - 13:30
Early finish on a Friday
Evening shift hours of work:
Mon - Thurs: 16:45 -03:15
Fri: OFF
