It is an incredibly exciting time for Bristol Airport, and we are looking for a Skills and Employment Business Partner to join us on this exciting journey.

Reporting into our Careers, Learning and Development Manager, the Skills and Employment Business Partner will devise and deliver innovative talent acquisition strategies to build a pipeline of future talent and skills, attracting and recruiting a diverse workforce for our airport. They will do this through driving and facilitating the delivery of the Airport's Skills and Employment Plan, alongside supporting the ongoing development, delivery and management of the Airport's Learning Lounge.

This role would suit a highly self-motivated individual from a Learning and Development background with the experience working within Apprenticeships and Early Careers space. They'll be a confident communicator with excellent networking skills, who enjoys working within a fast-paced operational environment.

First stage interviews will commence from the 20th May 2025.



PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:



Promote the Airport as a career's destination, showcasing the wide range of employers and roles on site, leveraging partnerships and utilising social media. Drive and facilitate the delivery of the Airport's Skills and Employment Plan; identifying opportunities to support people in work, including but not limited to; working with disadvantaged groups and supporting agencies. Regularly attend external events to promote the airport and seek continuous improvement opportunities to deliver on the Skills and Employment plan. Project manage and deliver a series of workshops and employability initiatives as part of the Achieve Fund, including working with (collaborating and consulting) specialist training providers, on-site stakeholders and community groups to deliver, review and measure the effectiveness of Bristol Airports' new Take Off Programme. Engage with on-site stakeholders and contractors to ensure delivery of the Airport's Skills and Employment Plan. Collate and report on relevant metrics to show progress and growth towards KPI's within the Skills and Employment Plan. Build and maintain effective working relationships with business partners and internal stakeholders such as Contract Managers, Commercial Teams and Sustainability teams to facilitate sharing of the Skills and development challenges. Identify and deliver more effective ways of working together. Utilise your understanding of EVP and Recruitment Marketing to devise a clear talent resourcing strategy to attract candidates to join the airport or one of our employment programmes, through jobs fairs, work experience and other avenues. Support the ongoing development, delivery and management of the Airport Learning Lounge, including supporting in the end-to-end Talent and Skills Development agenda. As part of the Learning and Development Team, take accountability for the success of the Airport apprenticeship programmes, frameworks, standards and assurance. Including monitoring, supporting and providing training and coaching to Apprenticeship Coordinators; facilitating bi-annual listening and feedback forums with SKEP groups across the Airport site; and liaising with the wider People Team to resolve any issues or development opportunities raised. Work in partnership with HR Business Partners to understand Bristol Airport's future talent requirements (including apprenticeships), including providing relevant coaching and training to ensure all SKEP managers are well equipped to support SKEP talent. Create diverse and inclusive early careers and EVP attraction campaigns which align with our values and attract the best candidates whilst ensuring our early careers recruitment activity is inclusive and fair. Develop communities and diverse early careers talent pools through advertising and partnerships. Provide regular management information updates on Skills and Employment Plan activity and progress, including Real Living Wage, enabling the business to satisfy its planning obligations.

PERSON SPECIFICATION



Essential



Proven work experience and success in an early careers or skills development role. Experience in HR/L&D, ideally including apprenticeships, design and delivery of training initiatives. Passionate about Corporate Social Responsibility, creating a level playing field for everyone, and supporting people into employment whatever their background and challenges. Confident networker and competent user of social media, with demonstrable success of leveraging for results. Hands-on experience with the full recruitment cycle and adept at identifying and executing a range of assessment and evaluation techniques. Highly self-motivated, tenacious and resilient. Recent experience of devising and delivering an attraction and acquisition strategy successfully. Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong, productive working relationships internally and externally. Demonstrable experience of setting targets and hitting them. Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills, confident dealing with people at all levels. An innovative thinker who keeps knowledge up to date regarding the latest technological interventions in this area. Technically savvy, confident user of Microsoft. Has an entrepreneurial approach to service design and delivery.

Desirable



CertRR, CertRP, CertIHR, DipRM or DipRL or equivalent qualification. Experience in a similar environment such as aviation, infrastructure, events or similar.
