Skills Project Manager

Salary: 54,376 (including Specialist Allowance)
Location: Hybrid with approximately 3 days on site weekly
Vacancies: Two positions available
Security: Role requires BPSS and DBS clearance
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

About the Role



As a Skills Project Manager, you will oversee the operational delivery of skills and training partnerships that support the growing demand for fusion energy capabilities in the UK. This includes working closely with regional stakeholders to design and manage training initiatives aligned with project needs, local community interests, and future workforce requirements.

You will also act as a liaison between the organisation and external partners, ensuring strong alignment with strategic goals and a positive local impact.

Key Responsibilities:



Monitor performance against partnership KPIs and lead review cycles.

Report progress to governance boards and manage compliance across legal, financial, and HSE domains.

Support strategic development of new and existing partnerships.

Manage project scope, budget, cost forecasts, and delivery strategies.

Align operational practices with safety, health, and environmental requirements.

Support apprenticeship and skills strategies, including administration of internal forums.

Promote diversity and inclusion in all skills pipeline activities.

Essential Skills & Experience:



Strong commercial acumen and experience making value-based decisions.

Proven stakeholder management experience across public sector, industry, and academia--ideally in engineering or a related field.

Understanding of skills development and workforce planning.

Track record in successful project delivery (budget, timeline, and objectives).

Project management qualifications (or equivalent practical experience) are desirable.

Familiarity with government contracting is beneficial.

Job Type: Permanent

Pay: 54,000.00-54,376.00 per year

Work Location: Hybrid remote in Abingdon OX14 3DD
