Skipper

Lochlannach

Basic Salary 36,169 to 38,995 per annum

Ability to earn up to 15% per annum in a cyclical bonus


Overtime available at an enhanced rate


We are currently looking for reliable and highly motivated individual to skipper the Company's vessel the Lochlannach. The vessel is a 14.95m x 8m catamaran, powered by twin 650hp Scania engines and has full accommodation and galley facilities on board. The vessel will provide a valuable net cleaning/washing service to the Company's seawater sites across the west of Scotland, predominantly within our North region. The role is challenging, but ultimately very rewarding and can lead to a variety of fulfilling career progression opportunities.

two weeks on / two weeks

About the job

The role is a crucial part of the operations process and ensures that the best management of our salmon is undertaken. We need our Skippers to strive for continuous improvement and deliver on all aspects of farm work to keep the team on track and performing well. The job includes, but it not limited to:


Perform any combination of duties aboard the vessel including lookout, steering and engine-room watches. Net washing/ cleaning Maintaining the vessel to a high standard, ensuring full compliance with MCA workboat code and certification Working closely with Farm Managers to provide the most efficient service between sites Ensuring safe working practices at all times Ensuring high bio-security levels are maintained and records are kept up-to-date Other general farm duties as required

Ideal candidate

The ideal candidate will have an interest in the aquaculture industry and be willing to learn. They will be willing to expand their understanding and work hard on the job. The successful candidate will have:


Appropriate certification for operating vessels up to 24 meters, both day and night You will be required to hold, or able to obtain, and retain an ML5 or ENG1 medical certificate RYA Commercial Endorsement or STCW certification IOSH Managing Safely Certification Net washing experience Work flexibly to meet the demands of the job Positive approach to this type of work Drivers licence is essential.
