Overview


We're a friendly SME contractor based in the South & South East of England and are currently seeking an experienced Small Works Manager to deliver works as part of our delivery team across the South and South East regions, the works generally range from 10k up to 100K and are mainly fabric and M&E.

The role will encompass a diverse portfolio of public funded and blue-chip clients, this will include managing multiple projects at any one time from concept through to completion.

Duties



Operational and financial performance of all works. Responsible for the co-ordination and control of the work from concept to completion and handover to the client. Day to day management of operations on site, ensuring that the works are brought to a successful completion and meets the required time, budget and quality constraints/standards. Ensuring timely management of any unforeseen delays. Effectively programme and manage all works. Liaise with the other management team members to ensure adequate labour and sub-contract resource is available on site. Plan and organise suitable labour to meet the works requirements. Plan and efficiently organise the site facilities and logistics, ensuring all equipment on site is fit for purpose and only operated by appropriately trained staff. Procure all materials and oversee the deliveries and ensure they are done so in adequate time in line with the construction programme and procurement schedule. Supervise, manage and direct labour and sub-contractor activities on site ensuring they are engaged, on target in line with the master programme. Ensure workmanship and material standards are achieved in accordance with specifications, building regulations, health and safety legislation as well as our own quality standards. Ensure site team and sub-contractors are following common operational standards. Maintain close relations with client Works Managers and Contract Surveyor regarding delivery and commercials. Attend and in some instances plan and deliver weekly review meetings with clients and subcontractors. Carrying out safety inspections and fulfilling the health, safety and welfare responsibilities when and as required. Create and maintain good relations with clients, staff and subcontractors as well as any other stakeholders. Collation of health and safety information to suit client requirements.

Experience



Demonstrate a strong background in managing multiple works. Strong leadership and people management skills. Strong and Proven Ability to work under pressure. Good client facing skills and commercial acumen Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Excellent influencing and negotiating skills. Excellent understanding of risk and issue management and mitigation strategies. Ideally trade background or excellent understanding of trades. Working independently with minimal guidance. Good level of IT skills to include, Microsoft Project, Word, Excel and Outlook

Pay: 48,000.00-55,000.00 per year
