We are looking for a skilled Smart Building Commissioning Engineer to join our team and support the delivery of next generation intelligent building solutions. You will play a key role in ensuring building systems are configured, tested and optimized for performance, efficiency and client satisfaction.
The Position is ideal for individuals with strong technical expertise and a desire to work with cutting-edge building automation technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Installation and commissioning of smart building systems - including BMS, AV, IT, lighting control, energy management platforms and integrated smart technologies.
- Configure and optimize system parameters for energy efficiency, occupant comfort and operational reliability.
- Troubleshoot and resolve system-level issues across hardware, software and network layers.
- Validate system operability between devices, platforms and integrations (e.g. BACnet, Modbus, KNX and MQTT).
- Review engineering drawings, point schedules and control logic to ensure correct implementation.
- Support on-site installation teams with technical guidance and commissioning requirements.
- Conduct functional performance tests and produce detailed commissioning reports.
- Deliver system demonstrations and training to clients and facility teams.
- Collaborate with project managers and consultants.
- Maintain documentation and ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in building automation and smart building systems.
- Strong understanding of control and electrical systems.
- Working knowledge of communication protocols (e.g. BACnet/IP, Modbus, KNX, DALI, MQTT).
- Familiarity with IoT platforms, cloud dashboards and analytic tools.
- Ability to interpret schematics, control panel layouts and sequence operations.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently or in a team.
- Full driving licence and willingness to travel to project sites
Desirable:
- Experience with platforms such as Siemens, Schneider, Tridium or similar.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity consideration for connected building systems.
- Experience working on data centres, commercial buildings or smart campuses.
